What is safety toughened glass?
Toughened glass – also known as tempered glass – is up to five times stronger than regular glass. This is achieved by heating regular glass at high temperatures (650°C) and then cooling very quickly. This process makes it tougher and up to 400% or 500% more resistant to heat and shock than ordinary glass. Toughened glass is specially treated so that it will break into small, blunt pieces under pressure, making it much safer than shards of normal glass.
Is your glass toughened glass which complies with Australian Standards?
Yes, all our glass panels are premium Grade A safety toughened glass and certified with the Australian Standards by SAI GLOBAL. The license number is printed on our package and marked on each panel when it is manufactured to meet relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

Will a 900x900mm shower screen fit in 900x900mm shower base?
No. Our screens sizes provided are actual external sizes and you need to measure what exactly sizes are for your job after the floor & walls are finished.
Can you supply custom-made screens if my shower is not standard size?
Yes, we work with some local major glass manufacturer to supply custom-made screens to suit any size and shape glass. Discuss and get a quote from our re-sellers.
    Why is custom-made so expensive?
Custom-made screens are more expensive because it is a one-off special order, where the glass is produced locally. Whereas our standard pre-made packages are mass produced and imported in bulk and the savings are pass onto you.
Can I cut toughened glass to suit my requirements?
No, the toughened glass CAN NOT be cut and re-worked. Any modifications or alternations made on toughened glass will invalidate your warranty with immediate effect.
    Do you install shower screens?
Convex has installation service in Melbourne Metro Area. Please feel free to contact our re-seller for a quote.
Does a frameless shower screen leak?
It really depends on how the screen is being used in. For example, if you rinse off directly the frameless hinge gaps by a hand held spray, it can cause some leaking when no water seals installed due to the nature of Frameless designed screen. To minimize the potential water leakage, we provide ‘push fit’ water seals and underdoor water bar for our frameless screens. Please discuss any concerns you have about water tightness with our re-sellers.
Eventually, it is your call to choose a screen by its style or its function.
What is the best way to clean my shower glass and hardware?
The best way to keep your shower screen clean is to wipe the screen by using warm soapy water after every use. Use a soft towel to dry the hardware and use a straight rubber blade to wipe to glass.

What if my shower wall is not perfectly vertical?
There is adjustment within the wall profile to allow for out of true walls. The adjustment available for each product varies across the Convex range of products.
